WELCOME!
Thanks for stopping by The Clark Blog!
We will talk about everything from the news of the day, to random thoughts.  This is not a one-way conversation…I invite you to give me your thoughts on things I blog about, and things I don’t.  No topic is off limits!

BTW…disagreement is part of the game. But, please keep it clean. This is an all ages show!

Sick of the negative ball coach
Posted on 08/11 at 01:54 PM.

Kickoff to the ‘09 college footbal lseason just a couple of weeks away.  I am as excited as anyone about that but ready for Steve Spurrier to finally say something good about his team.

Here’s some quotes from practice Monday night:
“It was a so-so practice,“ said head coach Steve Spurrier following the workout. “Our receivers dropped
two or three potential big-play balls, (we) jumped offsides two or three times and fumbled the snap from
the center again, so we didn’t make a lot of progress tonight. We’ll try again tomorrow night. We’ll try
to scrimmage a little bit with the guys (Tuesday). We’re not a sharp team,“ continued Coach Spurrier.
“We play undisciplined. We haven’t corrected that yet, especially the offensive guys. We’ll keep trying.
Coach (Eric) Wolford’s trying to get these guys to line up correctly and stay onside and get the snaps
back, but we’ve got a little ways to go. We’ll keep working on it.“

Believe it or not, these are about the nicest things the Gamecocks head coach has said about his squad.  And it has been this way since he got to Columbia.
I am not saying I want Spurrier to lie to USC fans and tell them everything is great when that is clearly not the case, but I think when players are told time and time again that they are no good and no better than the rest, they start to believe it.  And play like it.
Also, there are no excuses for Spurrier to have this type of team.  This team is totally his kids.  Players from the Lou Holtz era are gone.  So really Spurrier has noone to blame but himself about his teams performance.
Feel free to voice your opinion.
