Sugar High

I know this arguement could go on forever with both sides thinking they are right and the other is wrong.

But this spending by our Government is getting ridiculous.  Asked when we would be out of money, even President Obama said we already are.  Another politician called this stimulus money spending a “Sugar High”.  Meaning it will only help us for a brief time then we will be back in trouble once again.

Now GM is bankrupt and taxpayers are still giving them billions of dollars.  I’m sick of bailing out companies that take the money….and still fail.

Who is right?  Are we being fiscally responsible or or is this trillion dollars worth of debt too big of a burden for even our children and their children to handle?

I guess what I’m asking is….is this stimulus money working?  Are things getting better?

I totally agree with you. Our government needs some serious budgeting help. When ordinary people start having financial troubles we cut out all the unecessary stuff like entertainment, eating out, redecorating our homes, etc. They need to cut out all the unecessary stuff too.  That includes parks, recreation, memorials, beautification projects, etc.  They need to concentrate on all the important things like education, law enforcement, public safety, road improvements, etc. At the same time I want to know what does Sanford propose to make up for the money that we don’t take? He just says he wants the Legislature to come up with a better budget but he has made no suggestions on how he thinks that could be done. He is dumping it all on someone else to push his own political agenda.

People are saving not spending. The latest savings rate is at all time high in decades.

They want free things to do so they can save and invest their money for later when we’ll have to pay for the stimulus.

I found a few tips at http://www.frugaldater.com
