NIOSH draft report released
The initial report from National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health indicates water, and hose problems on the night nine Charleston firefighters died at the Sofa Super Store.

Riley reverses course
Charleston Mayor Joe Riley annouced today that he will release phase 2 of the Routely Panel's report on the Sofa Super Store fire.

Fire Review not Ready
Mayor Joseph P. Riley, Jr. announced today that the completion of the Phase Two report of the City's Fire Review Team, which had been expected to be released by mid-May, would await the completion of other reports by federal agencies who are also investigating the Sofa Super Store fire.

Nine South Carolina firefighters killed in overnight blaze
The city of Charleston, South Carolina is in mourning Tuesday. Nine firefighters lost their lives in a furniture store fire Monday night. The mayor of Charleston describes the 9 firemen as brave, heroic, and courageous because the fact is they were trying to save a life when they lost theirs.

Charleston County Coroner Releases Names of Fire Victims
At a 2 p.m. press conference on Tuesday, June 19, Charleston County Coroner Rae Wooten released the names of the nine firemen who died in the fire in the City of Charleston, SC.

Dying with Honor
Two of the fallen fire fighters, Michael French and Brandon Thompson also volunteered at the Pine Ride Fire department in Berkeley County. The Pine Ride Fire Department in Berkeley County is a place now burned with tears. Two of their own won't return to fight fires.

Fallen Firefighters
Two firefighters are confirmed dead, several others are presumed dead, after a massive fire at the Sofa Super Store in West Ashley. Now the trying task is underway to recovery the bodies of our fallen heros.

A tragic event
A tragic event occurred yesterday (Monday) evening at the Sofa Superstore in West Ashley; a fire broke out right before closing time with two people still inside. Our fire fighters, without hesitation ran in to save the lives of these people. Once in, the roof collapsed trapping nine of our finest inside. We want to hear from you! Please tell us, the families of these fallen fire fighters and the community your thoughts, prayers and condolences.

Flags at Half-Staff to Honor Fallen Firefighters
This morning Governor Mark Sanford ordered that flags be lowered to half-staff on state buildings. This is in response to the loss of nine firefighters killed battling a furniture store fire Monday night.
