Our journey on the High Seas is now over. It’s time to say goodbye to the shows, the beautiful sites in the inside passage, and thankfully…The Food!!! We have been eating way too much. It’s now on to our travels inside of Alaska, and I can’t wait to see what’s down the road. We are docking in Skagway this morning at 7am Alaska time (11am Eastern). Skagway is another gem, with lots of shops and history, specifically the Gold Rush days in the 90s…that would be 1890’s!!!.
The highlight of today will be our trip on the White Pass Railroad. Can’t wait, and the pictures will be coming later. We have had a great time so far, and our adventures are really just beginning. We (our Holiday Vacations group) are the only ones getting off of the ship for good. The rest of the passengers are staying on for 3 more days, but are not going to get to see what we will. I have talked to many who are not on our trip, and they are very envious that we will get a true Alaska experience, not just 3 stops along the inside passage. Oh, by the way, I was picked as a contestant for the on board Jeopardy game show. Don’t ask how my team did!!! Sports I know, John Hughes movies, well…that’s another story. It was a blast, though, and I got to spread a little South Carolina charm and humor along the way!!!
