Last night we took a very interesting and enlightening trip to the place where the late Susan Butcher trained her Alaskan Huskies for the 1049 mile race known as The Iditarod. Susan’s husband Dave demontrated to us how you must dress during the race, since conditions are normally dangerously cold, with extremely low wind chills. Our good friend Barbara from Charleston was a great sport, as Dave dressed her from head to toe with the latest and greatest clothing. Check out the photo gallery for pictures of this, as well as the dogs in training. Today we are off to cruise the Chena and Tanana Rivers to learn more about life there…past and present. It’s then on to do some gold mining….wish me luck!!!
