Just finished up our 9pm briefing with the NWS on tomorrow’s weather event.
Not much has changed from our earlier briefing. We are still looking at a stormy afternoon/evening tomorrow.
The only question will be timing. One of our models is a little bit faster, the others seem to be a little slower. The speed pertains to the warm front which is lifting northward. As long as we are north of the front, our weather will be stabilized, south of the front is where we don’t want to be due to increased warmth, and shifting of winds with height……
Our model VIPIRcast continues to show a squall line entering the I-95 corridor about 330pm or so, and along the coast around 6pm.
With this line will come a strong possibility of damaging winds in excess of 60mph….maybe as high as 80mph. This appears to be our biggest threat.
Tornadoes are still a possibility, but the warm front position will have a lot to say about where the highest likelihood will be…..We probably need another model run in the am to pinpoint this a little bit better….
We also will be looking a significant coastal flooding and beach erosion in the morning around the time of high tide…..which is 721am. The moon is full, and the tide is going to be high any way. Add on the possibility of heavy rain in the am, and a strong SE or Easterly wind pushing more water in, and some will have a watery ride to work or school……
That’s the latest here…..
