In an interview published in Saturday’s Post and Courier, Riley said Goldstein is to blame, and the Charleston Fire Department and the City did everything possible to prevent the tragedy.

Firefighterhourly.com author Jay Lowry is listed as the Charleston Fire Inspector on the last inspection of the Sofa Super Store prior to the deadly fire.

For the first time in a report, the cause of the fire is mentioned.  It says the “suspected” cause of the fire is careless disposal of smoking materials. The report also blames illegal additions to the Sofa Super Store, and a lack of incident command for the deaths of nine Charleston firefighters.

Chief Thomas said in his letter to Mayor Joe Riley , “this is the best thing I can do right now to help this department that I love so much, heal from the tragedy of June 18”.

I have a hard time watching the video...it’s legitimacy is questioned by the American Academy of Pediatrics . Others swear by the practice of dunking infants and letting them teach themselves to float on their back

Student Government Day in Summerville

A big day for students in Dorchester County. The Summerville Elks Lodge hosted it’s first ever Student Government Day. I went and hung out with the kids today as the prepared for a morning of “on the job” experience.
