When it was announced that Chief Tom Carr was one of the finalists for the chief position in Charleston…in my mind, and the mind of many others, he was the odds on favorite.

Well, now he is indeed the man, as Mayor Joe Riley announced just moments ago.

What’s intriguing about him is he is liked by both the “old guard” and detractors of the old regime. Now the question is will he be able to mend the wounds of a healing fire department.
