South Carolina lawmakers are lining up to stop the possible transfer of terror suspects to the Charleston Brig.

A Fox News report reignited the speculation that Charleston is the likely destination for some of the detainees from Guantanamo Bay. Lt. Governor Andre Bauer, and Attorney General Henry McMaster immediately responded with a willingness to fight their transfer.

Sen. Jim DeMint introduced legislation to extend the ban on bringing terrorists to American soil. However, Senate Democrats killed that measure.

There are also those who are not completely against it, like Sen. Lindsey Graham.

Prominent defense attorney, and the man who represented Ali al-Marri, Andy Savage says the Brig is one of the most secure facilities in the world and while he wouldn’t extend an invitation, the Brig would make sense.
