I know I pay taxes in SC, but from now on when asked my response will be I am from Illinois, my place of birth. How much hate can you spew at one honestly and overwhelmingly elected Black man, our President of the United States?

Ask President Bush. He had more hatred spewed at him than Obama will ever see. And I’ll bet you a shiny new nickel you didn’t complain a bit about it back then did you?
And if you’re so embarrassed to be a resident of South Carolina, feel free to head north, carpetbagger.

I’m ashamed of Wilson. Maybe he was jealous of all the attention
Governor Sanford has been getting and wanted to show that he was just as arrogant and ignorant. Well, done, Mr. Wilson.
I wish we could muzzle all South Carolina politicians while they’re in public.

Why is it that you who say how shameful it is that Joe Wilson dared “heckle” the President seem to want to overlook how the Democrats booed President Bush during his State of the Union addresses?
Why was it OK then, but not OK now?

Belynda:
It amazes me how “freedom of speech” is used to defend ones’ right to attack or heckle anyone they see as being different from their vision of people deserving their respect. For a Congressman to show such disrespect to the “office” regardless of how he may feel about the person is not what Freedom of Speech is all about.
There are some things such as respect, courtesy and healthy ways to express thoughts/disagreements with people. All the nonsense out there today is crazy and if the same outrage being expressed today about health care, school kids, socialism, death squads, etc. had been done over the past 8 years when this country was taken to war and all the other shameful things that happened, we would probably be better off today.

According to many “experts” on CNN yesterday, there are many perks available to illegals in the plans brought out in both the house and the senate as of late. Technically, they will not be allowed/offered full coverage under the bills, but they will still be offered much more than they deserve.
As to the heckling… if the president can’t handle it, get the hell out of office. It is call freedom of speech.

False documentation is an issue in our state. In the past there were many ways for a worker to get basic ID’s (fake) and work.
In other States we have a National ID , Linked together. Business men here hire the cheap labor then throw them away when done.
Then our Republican officals whine about health reform. I dont think the President intends to give Health Care to Illegals.
The reality is that we give it to them already, We need health care reform!
We need to join the rest of america and be a part of the ID system. That will help us a great deal!

Our elected officials are expected to be the voice of the people. I would like to thank Senator Wilson for doing just that. All that has continually been asked is to include into the reform bill exactly how non tax payers will be kept from taking advantage of this tax supported program. Like many areas of this reform bill there has been alot of creativity in the writing of it. How can you say illigal immigrants are excluded from this program and then refuse to include how it will be enforced!!! If it was an oversite then fix it, but his refusal to clearly shows there is no intention of keeping illegals from taking advantage of this program. In the past I have been an advid supporter of President Obama but this clear attempt at public manipulation is like a slap in the face. If Senator Wilson’s outburst brings more focus to this attempted deception then I would again like to thank him for doing his job.

Wilson is an emberrisment to our state. He and any supporters he has should rember that Obama is our president and should be treated with the respct that he deserves regardless of how they feel.

Senator Wilson is an embarrassment to the state of South Carolina. How can we move forward when we have people like him holding us back. His outburst was inappropriate and unnecessary.
