Mayor changes mind, will release fire report
Posted on 05/06 at 11:52 AM.
Calling it the “right decision”, Charleston Mayor Joe Riley called an impromtu news conference today at noon and said he will release the second phase of the assessment team’s report May 15th.
This morning on the Franko Blog we talked about the mayor’s decision and the outcry from the IAFF.
Riley said today he visited with firefighters and the family liaison to the fallen firefighters, and decided to hold it would cause more pain.
Quite a turning of the tide.
COMMENTS
Why are you all of the sudden concerned now? Where was the media when we FF’s and medics were begging to be heard? Riley got caught in a lie and sees the approaching IAFF storm. Now your friend RT and the mayor will get what they deserve.

@BradFranko At first glance, looks like network extended statewide.

@BradFranko Exactly my point: Why so long for higher authorities to challenge "Good ol' boy network" in CHS?

@BradFranko Dontchathink nearly 3 years is a little late for that? That investigation should've started immediately. #SLEDFail
