WELCOME!
Thanks for stopping by The Franko Blog!
We will talk about everything from the news of the day, to random thoughts.  This is not a one-way conversation…I invite you to give me your thoughts on things I blog about, and things I don’t.  No topic is off limits!

BTW…disagreement is part of the game. But, please keep it clean. This is an all ages show!

Media Pounces on Miley Cyrus
Posted on 04/29 at 07:37 AM.

It was bound to happen.

The national media has been waiting for Miley Cyrus to screw up...looks like she did.

By now you have probably heard about the “racy” photos in Vanity Fair. Cyrus, who is 15, is photographed wrapped in a sheet with her back exposed.

Needless to say, you can’t watch a newscast without seeing the video.

I have a couple of issues…

One being the idea of “having to explain the photos to your kids”.

Huh? I don’t know too many teens reading Vanity Fair.

If they do ask, I think most parents have a pretty good grasp on how to handle this earth shattering topic...they don’t need advice from us in the media!

Secondly, if this is the worst thing Cyrus does, I think the paparazzi are going to bored. So will those who hungry to take down one of the few young Hollywood stars not getting hauled off to jail or rehab!

She already issued a statement saying that she was embarrassed by the spread, and apologized.

Was it the smartest decision she could have made?

Obviously not. But she’s not nude, and she’s not in handcuffs!

Hey Lisa,

You’re 100% right!

I read today that Billy Ray is fuming over this.  He reportedly left the set prior to that series of photos...in which case her agents/parents need to flex a little muscle to make sure those pictures NEVER see the light of day!

There is no one to blame here but her parents.  They seem to have forgotten that despite being a multi-millionaire that she is just a 15 year old child.  If anyone were making pictures of my daughter I would make sure I was there to supervise every minute of it, especially if it were someone known for making “artsy” pictures.  Miley is not at all to blame for this and should not be judged for it.  Any 15 year old girl these days would have thought it was very glamorous to pose that way and would have jumped at the chance.  When her parents left her in the middle of the photo shoot with only her teacher and grandmother present they thought she would be taken care of.  It is their responsibility and no one elses.  Miley is a typical naive teenager who needs her parents to be parents.

When is Disney going to wake up and keep tabs on their kid stars?  They have such an impact on today’s youth?
