South Carolina Senator Jim DeMint said a defeat of President Obama’s push for government run healthcare will “break him”, and be the president’s “Waterloo”.

Monday, the president fired back without calling out DeMint by name. 

In his remarks, the president said that this debate is not about him, it’s about getting affordable healthcare for everyone.

Mr. Obama will host key democrats at the White House today to try to hammer out a compromise on the healthcare reform bill, that right now appears headed for an uphill fight.
