WELCOME!
Thanks for stopping by The Franko Blog!
We will talk about everything from the news of the day, to random thoughts.  This is not a one-way conversation…I invite you to give me your thoughts on things I blog about, and things I don’t.  No topic is off limits!

BTW…disagreement is part of the game. But, please keep it clean. This is an all ages show!

Prom…ah yes…Prom

A couple of handfuls plus years ago…I rented the tux, rented the limo, and no…I did not have to rent my date.  I found a great girl who was willing to go with me!

Yup…prom. I broke my right hand a few days before the prom…but took off the cast for the picture.

It was here that I embarassed myself by performing a duet of “You’ve Lost that Loving Feeling” with one of my buddies (our dates were SO impressed)...thank God YouTube wasn’t around back then!!

The next day, per tradition at North Royalton High School, we packed up for a day at Ceder Point.  It’s one of the best amusement parks in the midwest.

It was there that I rode my first roller coaster!  That was also the first time that I held a purse and watched the girls ride a roller coaster!  I still hate those things!

So…tell me your prom stories.  More importantly… send me your pictures !!

I am throwing my parents under the bus to get the ball rolling….CHECK OUT THAT TUX!!!

Nice look dad!

Actually Daron, he was a year younger than me…he was only a Junior at the time. Also, Karen is lookin’ hot!!!  Kevin looks a bit different though!

Hi. My name is Brad Franko and I went to the Senior prom when I was 12.

Posted by Erin Stuckey on 05/05 at 03:32 PM

Brad- just so you know “you all” (uhaul) to us southerners is the big orange truck/trailer the yankees use to pack up their stuff on moving day when they are moving back north!!!

So what’s wrong with holding your date/girlfriend/wife’s purse????  A smart man will say “nothing”......

Posted by Kelly on 05/05 at 12:34 PM

Cedar Point has the best wood rollercoster in the US.  How could you not enjoy riding that loud, rickety old thing??  By the way, “y’all” will eventually come to you just like “pop” ends up being “soda”

Wait a minute folks!!! I want to bring you in on the back and forth about Nancy’s photo.

Nancy wrote: Beth just pointed out the “circa 1955” under my photo. EXCUUUUUSE ME! That would make me 4 years older than I really am!!! It was 1959, thank you very much!

I responded by casting the blame on Larry Collett, he’s responsible for all things Counton2.com.

His response:I don’t know what Brad is talking about! I don’t have control over his blog; he has a special password that is exclusive to him only.

Ok, just kidding. At least I didn’t put circa 1955. smile

So I just added another picture.  Mike King, our producer in the morning…his looks like it was taken at a sock hop in the 60’s!!!  Great stuff Mike?!!!

What year was that?

Posted by Brad Franko on 05/02 at 09:12 AM

Debbie, you guys (I still have a hard time with y’all) are welcome to come back any time you want!  This is a pretty incredible place we stumbled upon here.  There are those who would rather see us Buckeyes stay in Big 10 Country…but I think after six years here I’m safe from southern eviction!

Thanks for missing us…it’s good to be missed!

Don’t worry Stephanie, I was only joking & the 39 part is a dream since my oldest son is 30. Please keep blogging. Leigh you look beautiful!!!

So…is there any way you can make me NOT look like a Hobbit!!??

Posted by Leigh on 05/01 at 02:13 PM

Let’s see, I believe that was 1995. We had a special “50’s Prom” theme that year. Band played a lot of Golden Oldies.

HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA. That picure is great Brad. We should put it up on an I-26 billboard. BTW, how did you break your hand or shall we ask? Maybe that’s a convo for the studio.

Posted by Daddyo on 05/01 at 10:43 AM

Wow Nancy!

I apologize to Mom. . I was only commenting on the era of the clothing pictured, that it seemed more like my age—I’m checking out of blogging. .this could get me in trouble. lol

Posted by Stephanie Wagner on 05/01 at 10:06 AM

Never checked out your blog before.  Should have known you were a fellow Buckeye!  Job transfer introduced us to the beautiful Lowcountry 2 years ago, and a job transfer brought us back to the frozen wasteland I like to call Northeastern Ohio.  (The Indians are my only saving grace!)  Miss the Lowcountry!  Miss Count On 2 News!  By the way….....nice prom pix!

Posted by Debbie on 05/01 at 10:00 AM

The sad thing about that prom picture is Dad & I thought we looked GREAT!!!! Now I want to know what Stephanie means that it sad to think she is close to our age. What does that mean???? We are only 39!!!! Brad, are you sure Leigh is laughing at your picture & not me & Dad? That is alot of HA’s for your picture ours is more deserving of the laughter.

Posted by Steve on 05/01 at 09:19 AM

Laugh all you want Spanno!!  Send me YOUR pic and we’ll see who has the last laugh.  And as for you Wells…I’m still scared of both!  Now send your picture, or I will track it down through your mom!
