From the word go, I said the shootings at Ft. Hood last week were just a man who lost it.
Despite the rush to judgement by many to call it terrorism, simply because of the suspect’s name, Maj. Nidal Hasan, I said there is no way al Qaeda infiltrated our Army.
I still don’t think they did, but ABC is reporting that U.S. officials were aware of Hasan’s attempt to contact people associated with al Qaeda.
What that means, we don’t know.
Just because he wanted to contact them, doesn’t mean they had anything to do with it.
However, it should give us pause, and remind us that there are people out there who would do us harm without a second thought.
