WELCOME!
Thanks for stopping by The Franko Blog!
We will talk about everything from the news of the day, to random thoughts.  This is not a one-way conversation…I invite you to give me your thoughts on things I blog about, and things I don’t.  No topic is off limits!

BTW…disagreement is part of the game. But, please keep it clean. This is an all ages show!

Those are ‘break-up’ words
Posted on 05/26 at 04:47 PM.

I know…it took me about an hour to get my head around it.

But, I’m not sure that I can.  How is it…someone can go through life this long without seeing some of the great feats in cinema history?!

I sat there…dumbfounded for about an hour (or 37 seconds…but for dramatic purposes…let’s say an hour). I couldn’t even muster the courage to ask, if she had ever seen other greats like; The Breakfast Club, or Weird Science, Canonball Run, or Smokey and the Bandit!!

We are in serious need of a rainy weekend…and a DVD player that can stand up to 9 hours of movie magic!

Maybe you are dating someone too young? Someone that didnt grow up in the 80’s perhaps? LOL

Hey Brad,

Excuse me please for disturbing you so much.

I’ve just had a new idea how to name my German blog. This time I’m pretty sure that it’s a unique name. Hence I won’t have to name it frankoblog.

I’m very sorry for any inconveniences which I may have caused.

CORRECTION

An L was missing in one of the sentences in my previous comment.

Here is the correct information:

I would like to name my German blog: frankoblog (i.e. NOT Franko Blog, but: frankoblog).

Hi Brad,

Thanks for the immediate reply. There was a reason that I asked you:

I am a German and I want to publish a German blog (i.e. a blog written in German!) about France: French politics, the French economy, French society, French football, French culture… etc. -
A blog for German readers.

Neither do I want to publish my blog in English, nor do I want to publish it for English-speaking readers. (Although I have to add that English-speaking readers would have access to the blog if they googled for it…)

I would like to name it “frankoblog” (i.e. NOT Franko Blog, but: frankobog). However, I wonder whether this would be allowed. I would be very grateful if you would allow me to use the name ‘frankoblog’ for my German blog about France.

Hey Thomas…Franko is my last name and when the boss came to me and said “start blogging” that’s what I did.  I’ve wanted to change the name, but I never come up with anything clever enough to pull the trigger!

Thanks for the visit though!!

Why is this blog called the Franko Blog?

Posted by Thomas on 05/30 at 08:18 AM

For the record- I have seen The Breakfast Club! Smokey and the Bandit- is that about a dog? Maybe I’m getting that movie confused with Old Yeller- which I’m not certain I’ve ever watched the entire movie, but I know it’s about a dog!

You know I have not seen any of these movies with the exception of Dirty Dancing and I grew up in the 80’s.  This comes from someone who has close to 200 movies in her Netflix’s queue.  :0)

Ferris Bueller’s Day Off and Weekend at Bernie’s are good ones too.  I love Breakfast Club and you can’t beat Cannonball Run.  Can we talk about “Him”?  Dom DeLuis will be missed.

How is it you can go all over Charleston and say something about Rhett Butler and people will say , who? I thought everyone knew the characters from Gone With The Wind. That’s been a shock to me living in CHS.  So I don’t think the “she” your referring too is all alone with seeing the true movie classics

I’ve only caught clips of BFast Club on tv from time to time.  Never heard of Canonball Run though.  I never saw Breakfast at Tiffany’s either eventhough it’s not on your list.  Watched Star Wars with my dad…the new ones are LAME.

I have however seen the Brave Little Toaster and Dirty Dancing.  Talk about some classics!

Does this mean we’re no longer co-anchors?

@BradFranko I think there is a 5,000 dollar (max of 50k) for every question unanswered. I'm pretty sure I heard that somewhere.
