Have they no shame?! Just like AIG, big three asking for our money, but still living lavishly!

I couldn’t believe it when I first saw this.

But then again, I guess the gall of these fat cats shouldn’t surprise any of us.

ABC investigative reporter Brian Ross says the CEOs of the “Big 3 automakers” spent ridiculous amounts to fly private jets to DC to ask congress for money!

Hello?!

Watch this story...it’s crazy.

I'm having a heck of a time trying to get a decent fare on my flights!I’m thinking I may have missed the best deals.

I know $340 isn’t the worst price I have ever paid, but just two weeks ago I saw one for $185. I said to myself, “self, you should book that”. Being the procrastinator that I am, I said I would do it “tomorrow”.

Way to go...it jumped to $340 the next day and hasn’t retreated since!

Take down those tattered flags

It's disrespectful, distasteful, and tacky...yet they're all over the place.Just drive around town for a few minutes and you will see quite a few of them. American flags torn, tattered, and faded...yet still displayed on flag poles.

Maybe it’s just that people don’t know that it’s a sign of disrespect, but ignorance is no excuse in my mind.

I recently noticed the flag on top of one of the big box stores was shredded and in horrible shape. I mentioned it to the manager of the store and he seemed thankful that I pointed it out...that was about two months ago and at last check it is still flying above the store.

Today being Veterans Day, you can pay tribute to those who defend our country, by respecting the flag under which they fought.

Tomorrow is Veterans Day, and while I hope you will thank a veteran for their service, I hope you will do that every day.

FInd a veteran, shake their hand, and say thanks

It sounds like a simple gesture, and it is. But, it means the world to those who fought for this country’s freedom.

Making people wait in lines for several hours is garbage. It is 2008 for crying out loud!

There is no reason why people should be forced to stand outside for three, four, five hours or more to vote.

I admit...I don’t have the answers, but it makes no sense to me that you would have thousands of voters and only two or three machines. I got lucky...it only took me one hour and 45 minutes to vote. Someone behind me in line suggested a half-cent sales tax to pay for more voting machines. We all laughed, but we need something!

We really need to work on this election system, becuase to me that part of it is broken.

Blogger says voting allows journalists to be tainted by partisanship. Are journalists setting themselves up to be biased by voting?

This is really an interesting thread! John Archibald from AL.com says it’s not his place to vote! I’m a big fan of his work...check it out.

Basically what he says is by voting, you automatically set yourself up to have a rooting interest in the outcome.

I don’t think there is a problem with having a rooting interest. To me, if you are an American you damn well better have a rooting interest in who leads this country! Apathy to the voting process leads us down a path I would rather not think about.

Reporting a story without prejudice...is the charge of a journalist.

For the record...I voted today.

We are getting tons of calls about problems with precinct locations.Check your voter registration card...that is the easiest way to check on your polling place.

You can also check out our Special Election Section. It has all of the precincts and their locations.

The majority of people who have called or emailed are going to places where they voted four years ago...some places have changed since then.
