First round of excessive heat possible later this week
Posted on 06/16 at 05:24 AM.

Well, here we go!  It can’t be summer in the Lowcountry without at least a few days of excessive heat.  We define excessive heat by looking at the heat index, which is calculated by combining the observed air temperature with humidity.  When heat index values exceed 105 degrees, heat illness can become possible or likely.

We may see Excessive Heat Advisories/Heat Warnings issued later this week.  Get ready!
