Gray/Klotzbach update forecast
Posted on 06/03 at 10:22 AM.

Dr. William Gray and Dr. Phillip Klotzbach from Colorado State University updated their 2009 seasonal hurricane forecast on Tuesday and lowered their prediction by one named storm.  They are now predicting 11 named systems this season.

Due to a developing El Nino’s associated wind shear over the Atlantic basin and cooler water temperatures, the veteran prognosticators feel a much less active season is on the way.

According to CSU’s forecasters, our season should be near to possibly even below the averages.
