Say goodbye to that 85 degree high we saw on Saturday because this week the lower 70s are about as good as it gets.
Monday’s high at CHS was 61 degrees, 12 degrees BELOW the normal high of 73 for this date. We will probably come close to that value Tuesday but a dry cold front will likely knock us back into the 60s on Wednesday. Expect another little bump in temperatures on Thursday before another dry cold front moves through. The ensemble runs of the longer range models are showing high temperatures in the upper 50s to lower 60s for Friday. An ensemble uses the equations of a particular computer model but changes the initial conditions in several different ways to see how the weather may change if different scenarios unfold in the atmosphere. Small changes can make a big difference in how the computer guidance handles a certain event and ensembles become very useful in longer range forecasts.
I’m not quite sold on the upper 50s to lower 60s just yet, but it is possible based on the possibility of a decent north wind developing on Friday. We shall see!
