WELCOME!
Thanks for stopping by The Murray Blog!

We will talk about everything from the news of the day, to random thoughts.  This is not a one-way conversation…I invite you to give me your thoughts on things I blog about, and things I don’t.  No topic is off limits!

BTW…disagreement is part of the game. But, please keep it clean. This is an all ages show!

Solution to health crisis: Eat less junk
Posted on 07/27 at 06:51 PM.

The obesity epidemic is a serious health crisis. We want our food, fast, fried, sugary, and caffeinated. We also want it cheap. But it doesn’t come cheap.  In fact the newest report says the obesity epidemic is costing this country $147 billion dollars a year.

I have found it’s really unpopular to bring up the issue of weight. I am taking a big risk by blogging about it.  I don’t want raised eyebrows…I want you to get out of that chair tomorrow and begin a walking program.  I am tired of hearing about the health care crisis!  The key is prevention…not reaction!  In this country we criticize smokers openly.  They are prevented from smoking in bars, buildings and bathrooms. They can not even smoke in their own cars when there is a child riding with them.  But obese people are welcomed into buffets and bakeries as their arteries become clogged and their blood pressure increases.

I think the doctors have provided enough proof about the dangers of cigarettes and overeating.  If there isn’t enough scientific proof, visit a local hospital. Talk to the people in the waiting room. Most would make different lifestyle choices if given the chance.  Your chance is right now!
