WELCOME!
Thanks for stopping by The Murray Blog!

We will talk about everything from the news of the day, to random thoughts.  This is not a one-way conversation…I invite you to give me your thoughts on things I blog about, and things I don’t.  No topic is off limits!

BTW…disagreement is part of the game. But, please keep it clean. This is an all ages show!

Talking and walking through history
Posted on 06/09 at 09:07 PM.

I read this some where and it still sticks with me, “f there were a Mount Rushmore of black leaders, Douglass and Washington would be carved on it”.
Nettie Washington Douglass, the great-great-granddaughter of abolitionist and orator Frederick Douglass and the great-granddaughter of educator and author Booker T. Washington.
She is the heir of two of the most important men in American history.  This coming Saturday, June 13,  I will have an opportunity to speak with the 66 year old mother and grandmother about the legacy of her fathers and her desires for her own family.  It promises to be a walk through history with a woman whose fore fathers once carried the loads so that we wouldn’t for forced to.
