WELCOME!
Thanks for stopping by my blog here at counton2.com.
I'm Raymond Owens, the 5-6PM producer here at News 2. I'll be blogging about stories in the news I think you might find interesting. I'll also try to give you sort of a “behind the scenes” look at what happens throughout the day here at channel 2.
I'd love to hear from you anytime. You can also follow my live twitter updates at www.twitter.com/News2.
Actor David Carradine found dead in Bangkok. My grandmother met him on the set of "North and South" when it was being filmed in Charleston. He was one of the nicest people she met there.
I did a story on the "C2B" race, the Charleston to Bermuda sailboat race last week. I wanted to get on board one of the boats and set sail for Bermuda myself.
If you want to go beyond the 1-2 minute updates on Iraq that we usually see on TV, and even for the most part online, this is a great site for you to visit.
South Carolina Attorney General Henry McMaster is preparing to announce that the CEO of Craigslist has 10 days to either remove illegal content from the SC portions of the site, or face prosecution.
This week I found out just how powerful Matt Drudge's website really is. He featured my blog post here about SC AG McMaster's plan to go after the CEO of Craigslist on http://www.drudgereport.com. Within minutes, the high volume of traffic shut down my blog.
Susan Boyle, and her recent stardom has lots of us in the newsroom talking. Personally, I think it is less about a good song, and more about living a dream.
Today was the first day we broadcast live on counton2.com via blackberry. That's something we plan to do more often here at News2. We are working hard to lead the media in the Lowcountry in getting information to you via the web.
Perhaps you have a place in your home for Pebbles. She has lived her whole life (11 years) with her owner. Now, after a foreclosure, her owner had to give her up to Pet Helpers.
This is something I am going to do occasionally on our "LIVE" twitter account at http://www.counton2.com/news2. I'll ask you a question, and you respond. Then I'll post the results here on the blog. What is your favorite BBQ restaurant in the Lowcountry?
