Thanks for being part of News 2!

10 days off, now back to work!
Posted on 06/15 at 03:44 PM.

After 10 days off, I’m back at work now.  I’ll post the rest of my “relax” vacation later.  Right now, stories, stories, stories.  There are so many new things in the news, I’m busy putting together the 11PM show for tonight.  Take a look…

First off, international news.  I’ve tried to stay away from news during my vacation, but I just couldn’t get away from what’s happening in Iran.  Twitter was REALLY on fire beginning Saturday evening, early into Sunday morning.  Many were complaining about CNN’s coverage. They were running re-plays of the eariler program from Saturday, when this major breaking news was taking place.  I’ll bet more than one meeting is happening at CNN to make sure that mistake doesn’t happen again.  I contacted one of the producers at CNN, and he told me to watch CNN International.  Well, we don’t get that on my cable outlet (wish we did.)  Anyhow, I’ve heard from CNN that they may just switch the CNNInternational coverage on the main CNN when something like this happens in the future.  Excellent.  This is a great story.  I love it when people in a country turn out in massive protests due to an election.

Locally… a number of people have recently drowned.  We’ll be covering that tonight as well.  There was apparently a drowning in Ladson.  We’re getting more information on that one for tonight’s newscast.

Also, a follow-up from the wildfires in Myrtle Beach several weeks ago.  We’re told the 9-1-1 tape was edited.  We’ll take a look at that, and find out why the edits were made.

And a follow-up to the battery operated television story I did a couple of weeks ago.  Your old battery operated TVs will not work now that the switch to digital has taken place.  We’ll look at where you can find a DTV battery operated T.V.

There are a couple of scams to tell you about… a jury duty scam, and a collections scam.  We’ll have full details at 11.

Then folks in Berkeley County contacted us about a problem they were having with a new pipeline that the county installed.  Millions were spent the waterline, and now folks in the area want to know if it was neccessary.

Those are just some of what we’re working on.  We’ll take a look at all that and more.  Shoot me an email or tweet me at http://www.twitter.com/news2 if you see/hear anything good that would make a good news story.  Thanks!!

Raymond
