Actor David Carradine found dead in Bangkok.  My grandmother met him on the set of “North and South” when it was being filmed in Charleston.  He was one of the nicest people she met there.

While most people knew him from “Kung Fu” or “Kill Bill,“ I’ve always loved “North and South.“  He had a major role in that movie, as one of the main characters’ husbands.  He was about as evil a man as I can imagine, and he made you believe that was who he was the whole time. 

My grandmother said off-camera, he was the exact opposite.  When they weren’t shooting scenes, he was over there with people who had come by to watch the filming signing autographs and taking pictures. He’ll be missed.

Carradine was 72.
