Tonight we follow up on the Berkeley County waterline story we brought you earlier this week… What happens if you can’t afford to pay the government $2500 to tap into a waterline at your home?

Millions of dollars was spent on a waterline along highway 311 in Berkeley County, and now one councilmember tells News 2 that at least 6 members of council had no idea that the money was being spent on a waterline along highway 311.

It will cost you at least $2500 to tap in.  If you don’t have the money, the county will set up a payment plan as low as $20 per month.

Some folks say they are fine with well water.  In addition to the tap-in, there are other costs for installing the line, and of course a new monthly water bill will be billed from now on.  What about you?  Have you had to pay the tap-in fee?  What do you think about this?
