I had heard of Tobies well before i ever had the chance to go there. My bands are from Folly Beach where we play the Sandollar,SnapperJacks, The Folly Marina, and The Holiday Inn on the ocean. When I arrived,I thought I was in Florida, at one of the little island bars. Parrots and Buffet pictures everywhere. I talked with the locals who told me I had to meet the owner. I was introduced to Tobie and I informed her that my bands were gonna play there. She had never had bands, and after I BUGGED her long enough---she agreed. Barnacle Bob became the house band last summer, we even staged a benefit for Berkeley Firefighters. Tobie has joined the band playing congas and lead vocals. We are BEST FRIENDS--as for the YUM YUMS--they are a group of very smart business women, wonderfull mothers, who have a true passion for life. I always feel better when they are around. In closing this review,--a trip to Tobies can be rewarding on so many levels. Come on out and grab a beer and sing along with us ---we can teach you how to smile---Barnacle

to continue.. I dont know what happened to the last mailing... but the owner to Tobies, who is Tobie and her Yum Yum Sisters.. are the ladies that dance on the bar... per requested by everyone.. they dance a jig, clean.. and yes, with thier clothes on... and They Are Adorable when they dance!... Tobie has a theme song for the restaurant, and when the DJ plays it.. she is expected to get on the bar. We all enjoy it so much. It very entertaining to all of us. Its never vulgar... and its the line dances that they do. Tobie does say that shes getting too old to jump up there.... and she is like 48 years old. but she does look like shes in her late 30's early 40's......But Tobie has been dancing on that bar for almost 30 years, and can jump up there so fast, even blindfolded and can clear a bar with one jump.... And yes, she does have a diversity in her music.. and the crowd it younger adults to older than I am... and I am 54 and my wife is 52.. we love going there... hip hop..yes, to beach, and shag, to country to island music.. she has it all! and like Tobie told me herself..... mix testosterones, harmones, beer... and throw in a full moon... well ya might have an argument once in a while... she says its not her first rodeo.... and it certainly wont be her last... Its just what happens sometimes, however, my wife and I have never seen a fight there... and we love going. The Food is Great! Tipper

Well now... Ms. Butler, I understand what you are saying.. but do you know the history behing the "middle age" women dancing on the bar at Tobie's..... the corporate name is YumYum's... the YumYum sisters, the two of them which includes the owner

I HAVE BEEN TO TOBIES MANY TIMES. I SUGGEST ONE GOES IN THE AFTERNOON OR EARLY EVENING. WE COME AFTER A BOAT RIDE , OR FROM RIDING OUR BIKES. THE ATMOSPHERE AND THE FOOD IS GREAT. HOWEVER, I DO NOT GO THERE AT NIGHT AS THE MUSIC TURNS TO HIP HOP, THE YOUNG KIDS FIGHT, AND THE MIDDLE AGE WOMEN DANCE ON THE BAR. WHEN GOING TO TOBIE'S GO EARLY.

We save our money to buy gas and to go to Tobie's in Moncks Corner. Simple as that. Tobie and Barnacle Bob and the Lost Bouy's are a treat to go listen to. The Crab Legs on friday's are the best anyone can ever eat! I travel about 25 miles to go there on the weekend.

Im there every Friday and Saturday.. my two days off and then maybe a Sunday. Its a great little place to dine and have conversation. The members are good people. Tobie's food is great. I look forward to it. shes always throwing in something different.. she might not put it printed on the menu... because then she would have to change it daily. Her entertainment is Fabulous! Her own bands are the Bomb! Barnacle Bob and the Bouy's.. and the Tropicools are awsome! Barnacle Bob's birthday is the 26th and the Tropicools will be there to play at "The Ditch" we call it. and Tobie's smile.. well it warms the hearts of many and all that come in contact with her. Talented in msic, and her heart and soul, she puts into all that she does there. Four Forks! Mark

To Meet the woman.. is something else.. a smile big as Texas! The food, was super! the best of Prime-Rib last night. I dont know what kind of crust Tobie's puts on it.. but Ive never tasted anything better. I had searched the internet before coming into town, Im from New York. I was looking for a place to eat in this town of Moncks Corner where my job had brought me for a month. Wow! a little place on a canal to the river, the owner, I was watching captivated her patron's... and unerstandably. She hugs everyone. she smiles and giggles with everyone. She respects her employees and to ask them if they enjoy thier job?... thier reply was... with Momma Tobie..Oh yes, I wouldnt work for anyone else. Shes great to us. she doesnt think she is better than us, she comes from the woods in the country and she actually helps us when we get in the weeds here. Shes fun to be around, and we enjoy working here.. it takes an act of congress to move us!... Well wow.. just wow. I had a great time there. truly the saying of: Good Times-Good Food-Good Friends--Good Everything abides and dwells there.

Okay...visting Moncks Corner, my husband and I were directed to Tobies for afternoon sunday drinks. We finally found it at the dead end of Hwy 52. She greeted us at the bar as soon as we sat down. She introduced herself with a big smile. We asked for the special Bloody Mary's that we were told she mixes. Golly!!!!! what a Bloody Mary.. it had so much fruit.. and pickle okra.. and it was served to us in Large Flower Vases!!!!!! the biggest bloody mary's we have ever seen. they were the best we have ever had. she hasnt started her bloody mary bar yet for the summer but were told that it is packed with papaya, strawberries, mango's and watermelon.. served along with caviar from russia.... and the muffins are to die for! we enjoyed it! Thanks Tobie for a great afternoon.. the restaurant is so inviting... and the company was great from you.. as well as the service we recieved while there. Natty and Jim West Ashley

I'm from Folly Beach, visting friends in Moncks Corner, on a Sunday in January, when people told me to stop by this river marina called Tobie;s. It made me feel right at home. We had a great lunch and were leaving when a drummer I know from Folly came in and said he was having a birthday party at TOBIES for his daughter, and the Tropicools (A band from Folly ) was playing. It was a night to remember. They still sound great and Tobies was just the right atmosphere. We hope the Tropicools come back to Folly soon.
