Has anyone ever felt like they were driving through a meteor shower on the interstate in N. Charleston?  I’ve lived in 4 other states and have never experienced anything like this until I moved here a year and half ago.  I’ve had my driver side window completely shatter while merging onto the interstate (very scary) and had to replace my windshield twice because of starbursts propagating too quickly (the cracks were also on the drivers side of the windshield; the glass repair people will not repair cracks on the driver side, they have to replace the entire windshield).  And then, UGH, today, a huge rock was kicked up and nailed my windshield, again, on the driver’s side (in addition to the starburst a rock from heavens made on the other side of the windshield yesterday). I know it’s free to have your cracks filled and the windshield replaced, but my insurance company cannot guarantee that my premium!
will not go up because I’ve had so many replacements.  And because of the change in temperature, the crack is propagating.  Great. This will be the 4th window replacement. Even my husband has a huge crack on his windshield from a rock hitting it.  Please tell me that I’m not alone with this problem. If I’m not, THE CITY NEEDS TO START CLEANING THE ROADS!! Even the shoulders!!  I’m tempted to have them foot the bill for my next replacement!

Have you received any complaints from businesses regarding email supposedly sent from UPS that even includes a tracking number and then reports its inability to deliver the package because of a wrong address? Then when you double click on the legitimate looking email, there is a virus attached that is activated. Our virus scanner fortunately intercepted the virus known as Win32/Cryptor and removed it from the attachment. Just thought I would let you know in case other businesses get these phony notices.

gas prices have dropped under $2 per gallon. why haven’t the price of food in grocery stores dropped too? the increase in food prices was from the rise in gas prices. so whats the excuse for the higher priced food now??

My Career Center at USC listed Craiglist as a possible site for job hunting.  With a tight economy I began applying for administrative assistant positions.  This site is a scam.  These companies use your resume information to share with other phishing scams.  They request additional information that requires your cell phone carrier and e-mail address so they can sell them.  Please beware of this issue and avoid this site.

in november 2007 i purchased a car from papa’s used cars in st. stephen, and had it financed by a local finance co.  in december 2007 the car broke down, the car dealer told us to bring the car back in and he would give me another car.  i took the car back, picked out another car which was also financed throught the same finance co.  the first car was traded in on the second car and the first car note was supposed to be paid off.  in january i found out the first car note was not paid off and we were receiving collection letters from the finance co.  we found out that the car dealer went out of business and the owner moved to myrtle beach.  we spoke to him and he said he would take care of it which it is now november and he still hasnt.  we have tried everything we know to do and still we have no results.  to top it off on january 31 the temporary tags ran out on the second car.  we had to contact !
the dmv in columbia and found out we were not the only ones who could not get there tags from this car dealer.  after three months they were able to get the registration for the car.  i’ve went to law enforcement, magistrates and even sled and cannot get anything done about this.  the reason i wrote this is i saw the article in the post and courier recently about the car dealer (sal rigoroso) in summerville who did the same thing.  i just dont understand why he gets prosecuted and we cant get anything done.

My Dad just had a double lung transplant & when we got back to our home we couldn’t go in it it was full of mold & the roof feel in if you know of any one that can help us please.

Have you had any calls about people receiving phone calls from 555 555-5555? I do not believe it is a USA area code, my provider could not give me any info on this. I have not answered those calls, hopefully it is not a scam where people can steal and use your phone number to make calls.

I purchased a Magellan GPS unit 0n April 20, 2008 and in less than 24 hours after purchase it locked up. I contacted customer support and was told to send it back to the company for repair. As it was only purchased the day before I did not want to send it in for repair and go without it for however many months so I took it back to Sears where I purchased it and refunded the first unit and bought a replacement of the same type and model. 93 days after purchasing the second unit it failed and again I was advised to send it in for repair. I vehemently requested a refund as this was the second unit to go bad and repair was not a satisfactory option. I was advised by Magellan that I could not get a refund as I purchased the unit from Sear’s not Magellan although Sear’s is an authorized Magellan retail store. I asked for resolution and received none, so I contacted Magellan’s home offic enad asked for the!
corporate head I finally with reluctance was given his name (Nelson Chance) and address. I then mailed him the unit certified mail. The unit was received and signed for by a Magellan representative (David) on August 8, 2008. To date I have not received any response back from Magellan even after sending a follow up letter to Mr. Chance after the unit was received. I also requested a phone number to contact Mr Chance through Magellan’s web site but received no reply. Meanwhile I am out $200.00. Your assistance would be greatly appreciated!

I purchased furniture from the room store on Rivers Ave. on Augst 18th. When we received the furniture it was damaged. They said they would leave it and reorder a dresser and chest. They came to deliver it again and it also was damaged. Here we are in November and I still had not received the furniture. When I called the store and spoke with the manager, he Mr. Mitchum said no one had ordered it. They were supposed to deliver it today and with no phone call, they did not receive it and rescheduled the delivery without notifying my husband or myself. I have requested them just pick up the furniture we have and I would go somewhere else. They will not work with me in any way. Maybe you can help. Sincerely, Michelle
