It’s something I usually just see on the tv screen in front of me. But earlier this week, one of our own managers had a great surprise. She thought her husband was coming home from his two week break from serving for a year overseas later that night. With roses in hand, he surprised her here at work! It was so amazing to watch and really brought to life the sacrifices our service men and women make and their families.

While at the dentist last week, the woman working on my teeth said her husband was deployed for 400 days! She’s also served overseas so she knows exactly what he’s going through. I could not imagine not seeing my husband for more than a year. My boyfriend and I only get to see each other once a month right now and that’s tough enough.
So to all of those serving, those who have served and the family members they leave behind, I stand up and salute you. Your strength and commitment are inspiring and I hope you know how much you are thought of and appreciated.
Happy Memorial Day.
