So a mother and son returned home to the states after trying to flee the country.  The son has cancer and after one chemo treatment, the mother decided to seek alternative medicines instead based on religious beliefs.

Some articles also say that the 13-year-old boy also wanted to stop.  The Today show reported that the mother said if she had not gone with her son, he would have run away.

Until what age should the courts have a say in what type of medical treatment a child should receive?  Should courts have a say at all?
