I ran across a good healthy eating suggestion the other day. It said “if you can’t grow it, don’t eat it.“
Americans eat a ton of processed food. The more packaging it takes to get to your food, the more processed it probably is.
I will say there are some good organic frozen meals out there, which would definitely be the healthiest choice to make when you’re on the run. Much better than fast food!
So try to use the above rule for one day. Focus on fresh fruits and veggies, grains and beans. Of course you can throw in some protein, but try to go for cage-free chicken and eggs. The less processing and added growth-hormones the better.
And some advice from Meteorologist Joey Sovine, plant a garden, or if you have one, plant an extra row to donate to a local food pantry or homeless shelter.
And a wahoo to me for fitting in THREE servings of veggies in one day yesterday! That was a challenge from a few weeks ago! I’m adding more everyday!
